Applying to Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service?
Practise the NFA firefighter selection tests — Working with Numbers, Understanding Information, and Situational Awareness — with timed simulations built for Lancashire Fire & Rescue candidates.
Lancashire Fire & Rescue
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service (LFRS) covers a large and varied area including Preston, Blackpool, Burnley, Blackburn, and extensive rural moorland in the Forest of Bowland. The service recruits wholetime firefighters periodically, and each campaign draws strong competition from across the North West.
LFRS uses the National Firefighter Selection process, which includes the NFA written ability tests as an early-stage online assessment. Performance on the NFA tests contributes to your overall score, so strong preparation is one of the most controllable ways to improve your chances.
The three NFA tests take just under two hours in total when sat consecutively. Candidates who have practised timed simulations beforehand manage their time better, stay calmer under pressure, and make fewer errors through rushing at the end.
Lancashire's mix of urban and rural operational work means the service values versatility, situational awareness, and good communication — all qualities assessed in the NFA Situational Awareness & Problem Solving test.
The three NFA tests
All three simulations are included for £14.99. Each is timed, scored, and comes with full answer explanations.
