Kent Fire & Rescue
Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) covers Kent and Medway. Its wholetime firefighter page sets out six stages but, when we checked, did not show campaign dates.
After the online application, KFRS describes an online psychometric assessment looking at how your skills and behaviours match those the role requires. It does not name the provider.
Practical and fitness assessments follow a fitness survey and include a ladder lift and lower simulation, ladder pull, ladder climb, confined spaces and equipment assembly, alongside a fitness assessment.
The interview lasts around an hour and is assessed against Kent's own leadership behaviours, including cultural awareness, integrity, teamwork, empathy, reliability, communication and equality, diversity and inclusion. At the medical stage KFRS says candidates complete a verbal reasoning assessment, and pre-employment checks include an enhanced DBS check. KFRS describes a 20-week training course.
