8 questions · untimed
This free demo has 8 questions and no time limit. In the full test:
This test presents four scenarios with eight questions each — 32 questions in total. You have 45 minutes. No calculator is permitted; use rough paper for your working. Each scenario shows information as a plan, a table or a chart, and every question about it refers to that information.
About this format: the official NFA booklet describes scenarios presenting information “in a variety of formats from graphs to gauges”, with several multiple-choice questions on each, 45 minutes and no calculator. The arithmetic itself is deliberately straightforward — the booklet’s own worked examples are things like adding three floor areas, and it states that no specific knowledge is required. The skill being tested is reading the plan, table or chart correctly and working quickly without a calculator. If your service uses a modern numerical reasoning test instead of the NFA papers, practise with our Numerical Reasoning test, which is data interpretation with a calculator allowed.
