Verbal Reasoning
2 passages · 8 statements · 3 minutes per page
What this test is
Practice in the style of the online verbal reasoning tests that many fire and rescue services in England and Wales now use, often from Test Partnership. Services' own guidance describes a test of about 15 minutes in which you read short passages and decide whether statements are true, false or not possible to say.
Test Partnership's briefing guide describes five pages, each with a passage and four statements, and a three-minute limit on every page. When the time runs out the test moves on by itself, and unanswered statements count as incorrect. This practice uses that layout. The passages are our own and set in a fictional service, so the details are not real policy.
How to answer
- True
- The statement definitely follows from the passage.
- False
- The passage definitely contradicts the statement.
- Cannot Say
- The passage doesn't give enough information to decide either way.
Use only what the passage says, not what you know or assume about fire services. Tap an answer for each statement, then press Next page. You can change answers until the page moves on, but you can't go back to an earlier page. The timer resets on every page.
Independent practice with original questions. Not affiliated with any fire and rescue service, the NFCC or any test publisher.
